Commercially Equivalent Phases


At ES Industries, we have developed several lines of Commercially Equivalent Phases. ES Industries’ expertise in surface modification, bonding technology, and column packing technology has enabled us to develop high-quality replacements for commercially available columns. In many cases, the ES Industries developed Commercially Equivalent HPLC columns that provide superior performance and reliability when compared to the original commercial HPLC columns.
HyperSelect HPLC Columns

The HyperSelect line is an alternative to Thermo Fisher Hypersil™. The most popular is the ODS; ES Industries offers the HyperSelect ODS column with identical selectivities in both 3 and 5-micron particles. In addition, the HyperSelect is available as BDS-C18, BDS-C8, end-capped C8, non-end-capped C8, end-capped phenyl, non-end-capped phenyl, silica, TMS, amino, non-end-capped cyano, end-capped cyano, SAX, and SCX. In addition, we also offer an alternative to Hypersil Gold and HyPurity product lines. Excellent efficiencies, peak shape, and resolution are obtained for virtually all Hypersil HPLC applications from high-quality HyperSelect HPLC columns. In addition, the range of particle sizes offers impressive versatility for capillary and LC/MS to prep and process scale applications.

Aviator HPLC Columns

The Aviator line has identical selectivity to ACE HPLC columns. Aviator is manufactured using ultra-pure silica exhibiting extremely low silanol activity. Aviator silica is extensively bonded and completely end-capped using specially designed silica surface modification technology. The resulting Aviator columns deliver unsurpassed peak shapes and efficiencies for the most challenging chromatographic applications.

Sonoma HPLC Columns

The Sonoma line is equivalent to Phenomenex Luna™. There are several different phases available in the Sonoma line. The most popular is the C18(2); ES Industries offers this exact type HPLC column in 3µ and 5µ sizes with bulk and preparative material available. Excellent efficiencies, peak shape, and resolution are obtained for virtually all Luna™ HPLC applications. A range of particle sizes offers amazing versatility for capillary and LC/MS to prep and process scale applications. ES Industries has developed a line of Sonoma stationary phases equivalent to Phenomenex Luna stationary phases. The new Sonoma phases include C18, C8, HILIC, NH2, SCX, and PFP.

Marvel HPLC Columns

Marvel™ – The Marvel line has identical selectivity to Phenomenex Prodigy™. Marvel products are designed to provide excellent peak shapes for the difficult separate analytes. In addition, marvel columns are manufactured to the highest possible efficiency and quality standards.

Spherisep HPLC Columns

The Spherisep line is equivalent to Waters Spherisorb®. The most popular is the ODS2; ES Industries offers the Spherisep ODS2 column with identical selectivity in 3, 5, or 10-micron particles. Excellent efficiencies, peak shape, and resolution are obtained for virtually all Waters Spherisorb® HPLC applications from high-quality Spherisep HPLC columns. In addition, the range of particle sizes offers amazing versatility for capillary and LC/MS to prep and process scale applications.

StarRise HPLC Columns

The StarRise™ line is an identical selectivity to the Waters SunFire™ C18 and C8 materials. StarRise has a long column lifetime and excellent reproducibility. StarRise columns provide symmetrical peaks for improved resolution and quantization of acidic neutral and basic compounds in a low and intermediate pH range. StarRise is available in many particle sizes as well as preparative bulk.

Harmony HPLC Columns

THarmony™ is an identical selectivity to the Waters Symmetry® HPLC column. Many chromatographers use Harmony when looking for a Symmetry® alternative. Harmony will offer a long column lifetime and excellent reproducibility. In addition, Harmony is engineered to the tightest specification and is available in large-scale bulk.

MacroDac HPLC Columns

MacroDac™ is an excellent alternative to W.R. Grace VYDAC® wide pore C18 chromatography media. MacroDac™ C18 is the ideal medium for high-performance reversed-phase chromatography of proteins, peptides, and other large molecules that had previously been difficult to separate by reversed-phase HPLC procedures. The large pores of the 300Å silica allow polypeptide molecules complete access to the interior of the silica pores. MacroDac™ C18 reversed-phase material consists of octadecyl aliphatic groups bonded to the surface of 300Å pore diameter silica. The unique process by which we manufacture MacroDac™ C18 provides for an HPLC media with very high purity synthetic silica and carefully controlled characteristics. The hydrophobic (reversed) phase is attached to the silica using polyfunctional octadecylchlorosilanes resulting in cross-linking, or polymerization of the hydrophobic phase.

Micropak HPLC Columns

ES Industries has developed a series of chemistries to closely match the performance of Waters µBondapak™ columns. Micropak materials are available in both the standard 10-micron particle size as well as a 5-micron particle size for both shorter run times and higher efficiencies. Most methodologies on µBondapak HPLC columns can be transferred to Micropak products without modification, including USP applications.

Neptune HPLC Columns

Neptune™ is an alternative to the Waters Atlantis® material for reverse-phase chromatography. In many cases, Neptune™ has shown better retention and a longer column lifetime than the Atlantis®. Enhanced polar compounds will be retained with complete compatibility with aqueous mobile phases. Excellent for LC/MS and gradient research.

DeactiSil HPLC Columns

DeactiSil™ is an identical selectivity to the Inertsil® HPLC column. Many chromatographers use DeactiSil when looking for an Inertsil® alternative. DeactiSil will offer a long column lifetime and excellent reproducibility. DeactiSil is engineered to the tightest specification and is available in large-scale bulk.

Partisep HPLC Columns

Partisep™ - ES Industries has developed a series of chemistries to closely match the performance of GE Whatman Partisil® columns. Partisep materials are available in both the standard 10-micron particle size as well as a 5-micron particle size for both shorter run times and higher efficiencies. Most methodologies on Partisil HPLC columns can be transferred to Partisep products without modification, including USP applications.

Partiselect HPLC Columns

Partiselect™ - ES Industries has developed a series of chemistries to closely match the performance of GE Whatman Partisphere® columns. Partiselect materials are available as a 5-micron particle size for shorter run times and higher efficiencies. Most methodologies on Partiselect HPLC columns can be transferred to Partisphere products without modification, including USP applications.

Chromegabond Ultra

Chromegabond Ultra™ - The Chromegabond Ultra line is equivalent to the Beckman Ultrasphere® columns. The most popular material, Ultra C18, is available in 3µ and 5µ sizes, with bulk and preparative material also available. As a result, excellent efficiencies, peak shape, and resolution are obtained for virtually all Ultrasphere® HPLC applications.
